Gràcia

One of the most popular districts of Barcelona

There a lot fo small shops, bars and restaurants, the majority of them small

A stroll round Barcelona is like a "round-the-world" trip, on a small scale. Starting in Gràcia, we soon discover a neighbourhood diverse in nationalities as well as in its cultural attractions.

Carrer de Verdi is the neurological centre of this former town that, before its annexation into the spreading city of Barcelona in the early 20th century, was the Sunday destination for part of the Barcelona upper-middle class.Above all in the late afternoon, Carrer de Verdi becomes a bustling centre of open-minded people avidly in search of new experiences.

The street is home to a rich variety of restaurants. Those offering traditional Catalan food compete with more exotic establishments, such as the Lebanese Al-Waha or the Egyptian Nut, where one can enjoy typical lamb or beef shawarma, or tea, either sweetened with baklava (small cakes).
