Gràcia
There a lot fo small shops, bars and restaurants, the majority of them small
A stroll round Barcelona is like a "round-the-world" trip, on a small scale. Starting in Gràcia, we soon discover a neighbourhood diverse in nationalities as well as in its cultural attractions.
Carrer de Verdi is the neurological centre of this former town that, before its annexation into the spreading city of Barcelona in the early 20th century, was the Sunday destination for part of the Barcelona upper-middle class.Above all in the late afternoon, Carrer de Verdi becomes a bustling centre of open-minded people avidly in search of new experiences.
The street is home to a rich variety of restaurants. Those offering traditional Catalan food compete with more exotic establishments, such as the Lebanese Al-Waha or the Egyptian Nut, where one can enjoy typical lamb or beef shawarma, or tea, either sweetened with baklava (small cakes).

Raval and Rivera
The Ribera Quarter, once an ancient guilt quarter is now an arty and trendy fashion place, like Custo´s shop, and where many crafts artists have their workshops. At the heart of it the Picasso Museum holds the most extensive collection of Picasso´s formative years as an artist and the famous "Las Meninas" series among other very interesting works of the Blue and Pink periods.

T10 Transport Ticket
Interesting web ( in english ) which explains Barcelona metro underground system
I think the best solution for all participants in the Comenius is to buy
- T10 ticket (Zone 1 ticket) which is a transport individual ticket.
- T10 will give you 10 journeys on the metro, FGC (FGC run train lines similar to the metro around the city centre) buses, tram and RENFE all Zone 1 areas.
- The main city central areas are all in Zone 1.
Some remarks of T10:
- T10 is valid indefinitely within a calendary year
- The T10 is valid on the RENFE train to the airport but not valid on the Aerobus
- The T10 ticket can be used on more than one means of transport and all be counted as a single journey provided that your journey is less than 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- If you want to use the metro you have to put the ticket into a ticket validation machine at the metro entrance. The machine checks the ticket and then marks it on the back with a printed day and time stamp.
- You can buy a T10 from any metro stop and from the Airport at the entrance to the RENFE train .

W01 Park Güell
The Park Güell is named after Gaudí's great patron, Count Eusebi Güell.
Although initially planned as a residential garden city in the English style (hence the name "Park"), the initiative was unsuccessful and only one showhouse was built, like the one which was Gaudí's home and today houses the museum devoted to the architect.
Finally, Güell donated the park to the Municipal Council in 1923 and since then it has belonged to the municipality and been a unique public park enjoying a prime location. Nowhere else so successfully integrates Gaudí's work into nature: his main source of inspiration.

W06 Port Vell - Barceloneta
The Barceloneta quarter is still the fishermen's quarter of Barcelona, because it's next to the port and the beach. It's the best place to go to eat seafood, such as paella or black rice, made only with fish and black-colored because of the squid-ink used to cook it. It is also a great place to eat tapas and take a walk during the summer nights
